Native plants are one of the best ways to create habitat for pollinators, which are vital to sustaining the habitats and ecosystems of the Chesapeake Bay. Pollinators like bees, butterflies, bats, birds, beetles, and even small mammals travel from plant to plant carrying pollen on their bodies, facilitating the reproduction of most flowering plants.
